Counselling and Psychotherapy
We offer individual solutions for individual people. Counselling and psychotherapy can be many things depending on what you wish to gain from it. At the start of therapy, you and your counsellor will decide on what type of approach you would like to undertake. Often it is helpful to explore where things came from and to develop understanding and insight about how this is affecting you now. In this way, we look to unravel the past in order to resolve it. We can also look at helping you cope in the present and looking at what you can do now to help yourself in the future. Counselling provides an opportunity to gain a greater understanding of ourselves and our ways of relating to others.
We provide a dedicated, safe, non-judgmental and confidential space and time which you can use to talk and be heard. People often find that just talking things through in this way is helpful. Counselling provides a different perspective than when talking things through with family or friends. A counsellor is an independent person outside of any family or relationship issue. Counselling is not about giving advice; it is about supporting you to think through your problems and make positive decisions for yourself.
